Dr Ravi Singh


Dr Ravi Singh is Head of Ophthalmology Department at John Hunter Hospital and also a VMO, who graduated from medicine at the University of Sydney. He completed his Ophthalmology training at the Sydney Eye Hospital. He also has advanced training in cornea transplant surgery, corrective laser eye surgery, laser cataract surgery, cataract surgery and eyelid surgery from London, UK. He is a member of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Oculoplastic Surgeons, American Society of Cataract Surgery and the Cornea Society of America and Australia. He teaches laser corrective surgery to other eye specialists through the University of Sydney.

Dr Kiran Manku


Dr Kiran Manku is a VMO at the John Hunter Hospital who graduated from medicine at the University of Sydney. She completed her Ophthalmology training at Sydney Eye Hospital. She has undertaken advanced macula and retina training at the famous Moorfields Eye Hospital in London, UK. Her special interests are macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, glaucoma as well as cataract surgery. Dr Kiran Manku is a member of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Retina Specialists.

Dr Mehm Manku


Dr Mehm Manku is practicing general Ophthalmology including Paediatric Ophthalmology and performs a wide range of Ophthalmic Surgery. His interests include Microincision Sutureless Cataract Surgery and Refractive surgery. He was appointed to the position of Director of Ophthalmology at the John Hunter Hospital when it first opened and performed this duty in excellence for 10 years. He is currently a VMO at the John Hunter Hospital.
He was the first Ophthalmologist to practice phacoemulsification cataract surgery in Newcastle and has performed over twenty thousand cataract procedures in this area.

Dr Kuo Luong Lee


Dr KL Lee is an ophthalmologist with a special interest in medical and surgical retinal diseases. He had previously trained in Newcastle, Christchurch (New Zealand) and the Central West, in Dubbo and Orange. He completed his advanced ophthalmology training in Auckland and Hamilton, New Zealand before commencing subspecialty training in vitreoretinal surgery in Hamilton and then at the Manchester Royal Eye Hospital (MREH), UK, which is one of the largest eye hospitals in Europe.

Dr Lee is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (FRANZCO) and is a member of the following professional associations:

  • Australian and New Zealand Society of Retinal Specialists (ANZSRS)
  • British and Eire Association of Vitreoretinal Surgeons (BEAVRS)
  • American Society of Retinal Specialists (ASRS)
  • Australian Society of Ophthalmologists (ASO)

He has extensive experience in the management of:
